Afrikan Centeredness is a theory that has roots in ancient Afrika and is reflected in the ideological principles of Nkrumahism and Toureism, Garveyism, and most recently in the last 16 years, Molefi's Afrocentrism... Dr. Ben and Dr. Clarke discuss Afrikan centeredness quite thoroughly.... also, Marimba Ani and ObaT'Shaka also discuss Afrikan centeredness and its applicability to our liberation struggle.

Colonialism and enslavement are twins of cultural imperialism which destroyed much of Afrika. Slavery caused historical amnesia which is how a slave is created. Common origin, objectives and conditions create unity. Afrikan centeredness says that Afrikans must have our own cultural base, must be organized, organized w/a purpose and our missions clearly defined.
